- "Mr. Prescott helped out my family once, a while ago. So I made a deal with him... That I can't seem to get out of. Man, if I could get one instant replay in life..."
- —Officer Berry to Max
Following the death of Kate Marsh, an official investigation was organized. A police officer named Berry was responsible for taking notes for the police inquiry. Principal Ray Wells urged the likes of Max Caulfield, Mark Jefferson, Nathan Prescott and David Madsen to cooperate with him while the investigation was ongoing.
When Max visited the Two Whales Diner in order to steal Frank Bowers' keys, Officer Berry was sitting at the counter. Berry commended Max for her conduct the previous day, regardless of the outcome. Max was able to find out (through the power of her Rewind) that Officer Berry works for the Prescott family on the side, specifically by keeping an eye on Nathan. Berry can also tell Max about Frank's history with dogfighting, and how he rescued Pompidou from dogfighting. Officer Berry speculates that David will not be working at Blackwell for much longer, given his instability.
In the timeline created when Max warns David about the Dark Room on October 7, Officer Berry is among the three officers who enter the Dark Room together. He also assists in the arrest of Mark Jefferson in this timeline, and digs up Rachel Amber's grave.
In the timeline where Max escapes from the Dark Room with David's help, Officer Berry has been crushed to death by a telephone pole.
When Max rewinds time to warn David about the Dark Room on October 10, Officer Berry joins David and another cop in a raid on the Dark Room the morning of October 11. It is unknown if Officer Berry survived the storm in this timeline.
If Max sacrifices Chloe to save Arcadia Bay, Officer Berry arrests Jefferson after Nathan's interrogation.
- Officer Berry only appears in Principal Wells' office if Kate commits suicide.
